Noble Energy (NYSE: NBL) Comes Up Dry in Nicaragua

Noble Energy’s exploration off the coast of Nicaragua has come up dry, an announcement from the company said this week. Drilling to a depth of 10,415 feet in water 1,220 feet deep, Noble said it found no accumulation of hydrocarbons.

This was the first deepwater drill off of the Nicaraguan coast, and it will be plugged and abandoned while Noble evaluates other drilling opportunities in its 2 million acres in the region.
